Information we collect

We collect the name, email and Australian delivery address you enter at checkout or save in your optional account. We keep subscription references, billing status and your agreement to the recurring offer so we can manage your boxes and help with queries. If you contact us, we keep the correspondence needed to assist you.

Our hosting and payment services also receive technical information such as IP addresses, browser details and request logs for delivery of the website, security and fraud prevention.

What we use it for

We use your details to manage payments and subscriptions, fulfil orders, provide secure account access, resolve delivery or payment issues, and keep necessary business records. Without the required checkout details we cannot process your subscription or deliver your box.

Payments and service providers

These providers may process information outside Australia, including in the United States, under their own privacy practices. We share information needed to provide these services and where disclosure is required by law.

When you start typing in the street address field, we send that address search text to Google Maps to show Australian address suggestions. Google also receives technical information needed to provide the service, such as your IP address and our website origin. Selecting a suggestion fills the delivery fields, which you can check and edit. You can enter your address manually if you prefer or if suggestions are unavailable. Search suggestions are not saved in your account or sent to Google Analytics.

Google handles this information under its Privacy Policy and Maps terms.

Updates are your choice

Creating an account or buying a subscription does not join our marketing list. We only add you to Plastic Crap Updates when you opt in. You can unsubscribe through any marketing email or contact us. Billing, account and essential delivery messages are separate.

Cookies and storage

We use session cookies to keep checkout and sign-in secure. Square, SendFox and reCAPTCHA may use cookies, local storage and technical signals for payment processing, form operation and abuse prevention. Blocking them may prevent checkout or the signup form from working.

Optional website analytics

We use the free standard Google Analytics service to measure visits, referral sites and campaign links, page interactions, checkout progress and errors, and confirmed first subscription payments. Google receives analytics cookie and session identifiers, technical device information, public page addresses and event data. We do not send Google Analytics your name, email, delivery address, card details, or private account and management links. Monthly renewal payments are not sent as new checkout purchases.

Analytics runs automatically. Browser privacy settings and tracking blockers can limit this collection. Any previously saved refusal in this browser continues to be honoured. For a checkout already submitted while analytics was enabled, a pending first-payment confirmation may still be reported for up to 24 hours. Previously collected reports are not erased by changing your choice. Google processes information under its own policies, including overseas: How Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Security and retention

We use HTTPS, restricted server storage and expiring sign-in links. We keep information for as long as reasonably needed to provide your account and orders, resolve disputes, prevent abuse and meet record-keeping obligations. Closing an account does not automatically erase records we still need for those purposes.

Your information and privacy concerns

Contact to request access, correction, account closure or deletion, or to raise a privacy concern. We may verify your identity before making changes. We’ll review your request and explain the response, including any records we need to retain. If you remain concerned, you can seek guidance from the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
